CrispAds, New Blog Ad Network

Responding to my BlogAds vs. Google AdSense post from a couple of months ago, Hans made me aware of CrispAds, a new blog ad network. Unlike BlogAds, this is a true media network model, where advertisers buy categories, not specific placements.

At first glance, I think this is a niche model, essentially AdSense for the blog market, where Google has not been very accommodating for smaller publishers. Because Google has the economies of scale to get much higher CPCs and broader topic coverage, if they decided to offer more flexible tools for bloggers, CrispAds’ reason to exist would disappear. Just my first opinions, I could be (and am often) wrong about these things.
